Core Publisher Users: What's Your Twitter Handle?

Dec 18, 2012

We're adding new functionality to Core Publisher so your shares to Twitter appear in the new Cards format. Cards allows Twitter to display your content in a rich media environment - with a photo, for instance. It's a more compelling experience and we're excited to make the stories you publish in CP work with cards.

How do you make it even better? Ask your reporters and authors to add their Twitter username to their Core Publisher profile. It's a great way to build your audience on Twitter because the station username and the reporter username appear in the card.

How do you add your Twitter username to your CP bio? Under "Contact information" on your person page, enter the full URL of your Twitter account. Example: https://twitter.com/toddmundt

Then the twitter card will be able to pick up your Twitter handle. Here's what it looks like:

Reporters may decide not to enter their Twitter username if they don't have one, or if they don't tweet as a station personality. But if you want to increase the potential audience for the station Twitter feed and the feeds of your reporters, this is a great way to do it.
